Danielle and Kane envisioned an Alice in Wonderland Tea Party themed wedding and rented our Lotus yurt for their celebration. This whimsical theme perfectly captured their quirky and playful relationship, inviting around 50 of their closest friends and family to partake in the festivities.

Guests entered "Wonderland" through a large "looking-glass" in the backyard, where the outdoor ceremony took place. Kane serenaded Danielle with a heartfelt song he wrote, aptly titled "Danielle's Song," while they exchanged personalized vows—Danielle reading hers from an Alice in Wonderland book and Kane’s inscribed on a beautifully crafted scroll. Their wedding party embodied iconic Wonderland characters, adding to the charm of the occasion.

The Wonderland characters included the bride as Alice, the groom as the Mad Hatter, the best man as the White Rabbit, the groomsgal as the March Hare, the maid of honour as the Cheshire Cat, the bridesbro as the Caterpillar, and the MC as the Queen of Hearts.

The decor transformed the space into a Wonderland, featuring vibrant flowers, homemade toadstools, and whimsical elements like giant playing cards and vintage books. The couple crafted their own bouquets from Alice in Wonderland book pages, adding a personal touch to the celebration.

After the ceremony, guests mingled and enjoyed a photo booth adorned with Wonderland props, while the wedding party captured memories with photographers. The reception in the yurt featured a delightful Afternoon Tea, with farm tables set up in a playful manner and adorned with mismatched chairs and dishes. Guests were gifted unique teacups as keepsakes. Following a delicious spread, the evening unfolded with music performed by the couple, including a special rendition of "Only You" to honor Danielle's parent's; Albert & Gisèle, 50th wedding anniversary. The night was filled with joyful music, dancing, charcuterie, and night-swimming, as guests played percussion instruments and enjoyed the warmth of the campfire.

Before the wedding, the couple’s friends and family came together to prepare and set up, fostering connections and deepening relationships. This profound sense of community was palpable throughout the day, highlighted by memorable moments such as the unrolling of the 50-foot vow scroll by the best man and the heartwarming sight of Danielle's parents dancing during the couple's performance.

Danielle and Kane plan to host an annual Alice in Wonderland Tea Party to celebrate their wedding anniversary, ensuring that the magic of their special day lives on for years to come.

What Danielle & Kane had to say:

“Alex and Selene provide something so unique in a world that could always use more magic! Their yurt was the PERFECT addition to our whimsical, quirky Alice In Wonderland wedding ceremony. They were professional, humorous, generous with their time, and very quick setting up and taking down the yurt. If we had questions (and we had many), they had answers (and lots of kind patience). They provided a safe, secure, and energetic presence that helped reassure us that our wedding was going to be magical, and that any wild Atlantic weather that graced us wouldn't hamper the ambiance and comfort of the occasion. We would absolutely recommend them to anyone venturing down the rabbit-hole of alternative wedding accommodations!”
